Why do we always play games? Why the fuck not?..we say. Other than drugs and sex, what is going to provide as much stimulation and satisfaction as gaming? We play games because they challenge us. Gaming is like any competitive sport, all the elements are there..the test of skill and tactics, the competition, and the satisfaction of winning. Unlike sports though, success in gaming isn't limited by one's physical shortcomings (you just need good eyes and hands).
We play games because we're good at it..and I'm pretty sure we're addicted to it.
Honestly, whenever I'm asked a similar question, I just give some lame answer to get them off my back, because I know they have already made up their minds on the subject and will never truly understand it.
Why do you do anything that you find entertaining????
Please let us know what it is that you do in your free time that is so much better.

Challenge is the key word. I know that is what keeps me interested. But you should never be stagnant and challenge yourself the same way all the time. Ok now it's time for me to go back to solitaire.
First, I wouldn't go to a cyber cafe because I'm antisocial. Second, sorry for saying something that apparently someone else agrees with and wrote an article about. Maybe I should refer people to articles now when they ask me about why I play games. Finally, gaming is like a drug.. for me at least, and I feel nothing else gives the same "high".
i spend all my time reading..does it give me joy...not particularly, but it isnt torture so i deal with it...When im absolutely free, i go to the beach and just look at boobies...lol and the beach..with my ipod...but elfy if u came down..u can game on ur psp while walking at the beach..sounds super doesnt it
I do enjoy doing other things besides gaming, it's just that it's all people seem to see. I realize that the amount of time I spend playing games is unhealthy and I'm changing that. I quit WoW again and I'm going to start working out at 24. I'm trying to find other things to do with my time, but I doubt I'll ever quit playing games completely.
When I am not playing games I find that I become so damn bored and dull, and when doing anything else feel like I'm just burning time, so why not do it playing games. There's a lot more to this than I care to share on a blog blahblahblah enough ranting for me.
If you find me cheap tickets I'll fly down right now Mike, I would love to stroll on the beach and relax with boobies.

I have nothing to do in the game now and no one to play with..so yea I quit. I grinded to GM only because I thought better gear would allow me to play with my friends again (because thats a huge part of why I play this game or any game for that matter).
